Dental implants

A dental implant is a substitute for a natural root. It is placed into a socket created at the position of the intended tooth. Once fitted the implant provides for long-term support of crowns, bridges or dentures.

Who is suitable for dental implants?

If you have good general health then dental implants will almost certainly work. However heavy drinking or smoking can increase the number of problems associated with healing and influence the long-term health of the gum and bone surrounding the implant. Implants may be declined because of this.
